Our pickup day is Monday. All garbage should be bagged and fit into the bin. Allow 3 feet on each side of the roll carts.
Use the Recycle Bin for paper (not shredded), cardboard, glass bottles, most metal, and plastics with recycling numbers except plastic bags (take to grocery store) and Styrofoam. Recyclables should be placed in the bins without bags.
Yard waste and larger trash are collected monthly, up to 10 cubic yards per month per household.
Our pickup is the week beginning with the second Monday of the month, and it can be put out beginning 7am the prior Thursday through 7am the second Monday. Bulk trash should be placed near the curb or on the lawn.
It cannot obstruct the sidewalk (as to not block a stroller or wheelchair) or protrude into the street.
They will NOT pick up construction waste, mirrors or glass, electronics, and hazardous materials such as pesticides, pool chemicals, paint, oil, antifreeze, etc.
You MUST take these items to the chemical collection center at 11234 Plano Rd.
Electronic items (televisions, computers, etc. )should be taken to the Northeast Transfer Station at 7677 Fair Oaks Ave.
For an annual variance for over 10 yards or cost-plus collection outside of the scheduled time, call 311.
Addresses ending in even numbers may ONLY run sprinklers on Sunday and Thursday before 10 am.
Odd number addresses may water on Saturday and Wednesday before 10am.
Running sprinklers between 10am and 6pm from April 1 through October 31 is prohibited.
Sprinkler systems are required to have rain and freeze sensors.
Hand watering and driplines are allowed any day and time.
Trees should be pruned:
8 feet of clearance above sidewalks
15 feet of clearance above streets and alleys
It is illegal to blow leaves or other debris into the street and storm sewers.
The Prestonwood Trail Neighborhood Association has no authority on these requirements. City code vehicles frequently drive around looking for violations, and will give fines without warning.
